Around Heath

In the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, Boat of Garten is a much loved holiday village.

Holidays spent here can be entirely relaxing affairs, just enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the natural country-side and the wildlife on your doorstep. Or they can be action-packed and exhilarating. It’s your choice. And doing both is perfectly acceptable.

The Boat, as Boat of Garten is known locally, is home to the famous Ospreys, a renowned James Braid golf course, the Steam Railway, and of course the mighty River Spey.

Drive for half an hour and you can explore some of Scotland’s most romantic hills and glens, including some challenging Munros, and the ever-changing scenery of Lochs Insh, Morlich, and Garten.

The Spey Valley is also home to Scotland’s popular ‘whisky trail’. And there are too many fantastic golf courses to list.

The slides, tree-top trails and woodland mazes of Landmark in Carrbridge are a favourite family day out and Aviemore is fast becoming Scotland’s best destination for familiar and brand new extreme sports.
